Weekly Chanted Prayers (Ongoing)
CHANTED PRAYERS ARE OFFERED IN-PERSON
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pray in the face of COVID-19 and numerous other sufferings. Our Center continues to offer our prayers and dedications to those who need it the most.
SMC invites all of its members, friends, and benefactors to join us for chanted prayers on the following days and times.
All Prayers are Free.
HEART JEWEL PRAYERS
Tuesdays | 5:45 – 6:30 pm
Heart Jewel is the heart essence of Kadampa Buddhism and many Kadampas do these prayers as part of their daily practice. Buddhas or enlightened beings can appear or emanate as anything, and especially as teachers and as protectors; and in this practice we pray to and rely upon the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri in both these ways.
You can download a copy of the Heart Jewel Prayers here.

This is a special Guru Yoga of Je Tsongkhapa in conjunction with Highest Yoga Tantra that is a preliminary practice for Vajrayana Mahamudra. The main practice is relying upon our Spiritual Guide as a Buddha and making praises and requests, but it also includes all the essential practices of the stages of the path and training the mind, as well as both the generation stage and completion stage of Highest Yoga Tantra. By relying upon Je Tsongkhapa our compassion, wisdom, and spiritual power naturally increase.

Wishfulfilling Jewel with Tsog
Wednesday | March 29 | 6 pm | Free
In-person at Serlingpa Meditation Center, Wishfulfilling Jewel, Please bring an offering if you wish.
This practice is the very essence of Kadampa Buddhism. In the first part of the prayers we practice the Guru Yoga of Je Tsongkhapa, in which we purify negativity, accumulate merit, receive blessings, and cultivate compassion, wisdom, and spiritual strength. In the second part we make requests to the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden to overcome obstacles and create favorable conditions for spiritual practice.
These two practices are the very essence of the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. If we practice them regularly and sincerely, we will reap a rich harvest of pure Dharma realizations, and eventually, come to experience the supreme joy of full enlightenment.
This practice includes a tsog offering. For tsog pujas, we gather together to pray and make special offerings. You are welcome to bring a vegetarian food offering if you wish.
• Dedication requests on behalf of the sick and the recently deceased can be emailed to sldickens1@comcast.net
