7p- Exploring Buddhism: Karma (Drop-in classes)

April 3, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until April 24, 2018

We all want to fully enjoy our life and be free from problems, but how do we achieve this? To avoid suffering and experience happiness we need to clearly their identify causes. Through understanding the law of karma, or actions and their effects, we will feel deeply encouraged in our ability to change the course of our life. In this half-day course, Jenny will give clear, practical teachings on Karma, how to purify our negativities, and create happiness.

“Every action we perform leaves an imprint on our very subtle mind, and each imprint eventually gives rise to its own effect”

— How to Understand the Mind
Normally we relate to ourselves as if we are fixed and unchangeable. As a result, we feel stuck in our limitations. Buddha’s teachings on karma and emptiness, however, show the falsity of that view and instead give us a vibrant sense of possibility. We can change. Not just a little, but to an extraordinary degree. We can transcend those false limitations, create the life we want, and become the person we wish to be. We can even become enlightened!
